In 1984, I set the worldwide high score for the Xevious arcade game after five hours of play in front of an offical judge. I started with 5 Solvalou ships and racked up 17 more so my play time was limited only by my bladder. After five hours I'd reached 4 million, easily exceeding the current high score of 1 million. I felt safe in my win.
But a few weeks later a guy in Montana made 9 million, and then an Italian hit 10 million. I held the #3 spot for many years but Twin Galaxies eventually removed those scores. Today I discovered they'd resurrected the Xevious page and I still hold the #4 worldwide rank!
